Neighbourhood Overview

Lower Lonsdale, aka “LoLo” by locals, is trendy and bustling neighbourhood located along the Vancouver's North Shore of the Burrard Inlet. The area is popular for young professionals, and offers the best of waterfront living with incredible views of the Downtown Vancouver skyline. This vibrant community is packed with amenities and offers easy access to downtown Vancouver in 15 minutes via the SeaBus.

The recent completion of the Shipyards area has seen new restaurants like Nook, and a flagship Joey’s location open their doors right on the waterfront pier. From May to September runs the Shipyards Night Market which attracts thousands and will once again liven up Shipbuilders' Square with over 100 vendors, including food trucks, live music and a beer garden. Another staple in the area, is the uber-popular Lonsdale Quay which is home to 80 vendors including an international food court, brewery and a wide selection of cafes. The area continues to become more diverse and interesting, which is ideal for lifestyle needs when you want to live locally but have convenient access to the big city. Plus, with all of the fun stuff to do in the neighbourhood, going downtown Vancouver starts to lose its appeal!

For all you beer drinkers, North Vancouver is also fast becoming one of the best craft micro brewery destinations, with the epicentre of the action located East of Lonsdale Avenue on 1st Street and Esplanade. In recent years, a number of breweries have opened their doors; including Beere Brewing, StreetCar Brewing, House of Funk, North Point Brewing, and Shaketown Brewing which plans to open sometime in 2020.

The North Shore is an outdoor mecca with world-class skiing, snowboarding & hiking just minutes away from your doorstep. The North Shore offers three different ski-hills within a 20-minute drive, including Cypress, Grouse, and Mount Seymour. Further away, Whistler-Blackcomb is accessible by an hour and a half drive, and has long been considered one of the premier mountain resorts in North America.

Lower Lonsdale is comprised mainly of apartment buildings, both high rise concrete and low-rise wood framed buildings, as well as townhouses. Accessibility to downtown, good schools, and a mix of luxury and affordability in homes. Its easy to see why this is considered one of the most desirable areas to live in all of the North Shore.
